ì  Create a photo caption and explain your caption

ì  Choose two news photos on the same subject and compare and contrast

The above pictures were taken from the news about the implementation of the national education, which the lady was facing the media telling her stand. The lady was Miss Anna, Wu Hung-yuk, the chairman of the consultation group of the national education. The left one was from Apple Daily and the right one was from Oriental Daily.

The photo on the left, Anna was not looking at the camera. She looked sideway and angry, seems like arguing with people. Her eyes was looking upward giving the feeling of talking from a upper lever to the down level without manner. The audience would have the sense that she was not listening to the public and just doing on her own.

The photo on the right, Anna was facing the media so with the sense of facing the public. She was smiling and and looking at the camera. It gave the audience a sense of polite, and communication. For the background , it was red in colour and with the words  “Hong Kong”. It suggested that she was working for the future of Hong Kong and what she did was not betraying Hong Kong. The readers should believe her words.

From the pctures, we can almost guess the stands of the dailys. The Apple Daily suggested to reject while the Oriental supported the implementation of national education.

which the lady was facing the media telling her stand...with the lady telling the media her stance...
The lady was Miss Anna, Wu Hung-yuk, who is a staff in the organization promtoing the national education....[isn't she the chairman of a consultation group?]
For the left one...The photo on the left...
She looked at elsewhere...She looked sideway/ stared at somewhere else

Wow...this is very subtle indeed! You can also give a more general statement about the national education controversy, and then the role that Anna Wu is playing. Then use the two photos to further elaborate your argument about media stances.
